The Delavan Elks Club and a group of local citizens are looking for cash or food donations to help put on a free Thanksgiving Day dinner for the less fortunate.

On Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 22), from noon until 4 p.m., the Delavan Elks Lodge is opening its doors to serve a buffet-style dinner for anyone who can't afford to celebrate the holiday, or has no family or friends to celebrate the holiday with.

Volunteers are needed to help cook and serve food and also to clean the kitchen and dining room.

The event also needs more food donations, including ham and turkeys, potatoes, cranberries, stuffing, desserts and other traditional Thanksgiving Day eats.

Cash and check donations will be gladly accepted.

Organizers are looking for individual and corporate donations.

To volunteer, or schedule a pickup for food donations, call Chris or Patti Marsicano at (262) 745-4045 or (262) 745-9473, respectively.

Cash or check donations can be sent to the Marsicano's at 221 Inlet Shore Drive, Delavan, WI, 53115.

The Elks Lodge is located at 627 S. Second St., Delavan.
