FONTANA—Village police are investigating a burglary that took place around 6:45 a.m. Sunday.

The intruder entered through an unlocked patio door, was confronted by the homeowner and fled with a purse and jewelry, according to a news release issued by the Fontana Police Department.

The Walworth County Sheriff’s Department is investigating three similar burglaries on the west side of Geneva Lake.

There are no suspects at this time, Undersheriff Kurt Picknell said.

No further information is available.

Police remind homeowners to lock doors and windows, especially during hours of darkness. Vehicles parked outside should also be locked.

Anyone with information about the burglaries should call Walworth County Crime Stoppers at (262) 723-COPS.
