Three Janesville students expelled

The Janesville School Board expelled three high school students Tuesday, the first to be expelled this school year. They are:

  • A student accused of negligently handling burning materials on school grounds, expelled through the end of 2008 summer school.

  • Another student accused of negligently handling burning materials on school grounds, in a separate incident, according to Student Services Director Karen Schulte. This student was expelled through the end of the 2008-09 school year.

  • A student accused of possessing a knife with a 3-inch locking blade on school grounds, expelled through the end of the school year.
