Police are on the scene of a large marijuana bust in Darien Township.

Officials have found a marijuana-growing operation about the size of a football field near Creek Road and Highway 14, near Turtle Creek.

Janesville Gazette reporter Mike Heine is on the scene.

Officials haven’t released details about the number of plants or suspects. The Walworth County Drug Unit is using all-terrain vehicles and a helicopter to transport the marijuana out of the area.

A drug unit official told Heine he doesn’t believe the growers are local. Officials are working with law enforcement in Kenosha County and Cook County, Ill., but no arrests have been made.
