UNDATED (AP) - Green Bay Packers fans without television access to the big game tonight are making reservations in order watch the matchup with Dallas.

Those who want to avoid crowded bars are checking into hotels in the Milwaukee and Green Bay television markets.

Madison resident Tom Brotherton has a room at the Days Inn near Fond du Lac. Brotherton says he'd never forgive himself if he passed up an opportunity to see the game, which he predicts will be the game of the year.

And, he isn't alone.

Days Inn manager Melinda Geiger in Johnson Creek says she has at least six rooms reserved by Packer fans that want to see the game.

People should get rid of Charter (who is screwing people over big time in the area with the price hikes, crappy service and bad channel selections) and go to dish network or direct tv... you get more for a lot less a month!

Quit complaining... If your a true fan then quit being such a tight wad and pay for the NFL network. yea when I first heard about charter doing this last year I thought it was a Shi#%y thing to do but what do ya do. So I called them up told them what I thought about their service and I cannceled. Now I have direct TV and you know what, I love it and even more I love the NFL Network. You get so much more then just one packer game every year. And I know some of ya are thinking oh well I just like watching the packers, but you know what you pay alot for other channels that air stuff you don't like and what do ya do you turn the channel to something else you like. Well anyway you heard my thoughts on the whole or-deal so if you don't like what I said then hey tune into 101.5 WIBA FM and you can listen to it. or better yet don't watch the game and be mad at something you can't control.

I think the NFL channel should be an option. Either have all the Latino shows, religious and Lifetime or NFL ( sports ) channels at no extra cost.
Just like Charter took away the GSN channel. What was that all about? Do they honestly know what they are doing half the time? Our rates keep going up and we are paying for channels we don't even watch. Why not let us pick which channels we do want including NFL channel and get rid of the ones we can't watch because it's in a language we don't understand?

What world are you in...who out there is only paying Charter $50 a month? By the way, I think the whole thing is a scam---a nice revenue stream for Big 10 and NFL--like they don't have enough revenue already. And another way for cable to stick it to the consumer. By the way, I realize that both of these are expenses for cable. Unfortunately, Time Warner and Charter are big enough that a few people leaving for satellite doesn't nick them enough. I feel bad for the smaller town, local cable companies who have felt that they HAVE to offer them at huge expense because losing any customer is to costly. Unfortunately, Joe Customer doesn't matter much to the biggies and the football admnistrators.

So glad i have DISH...Rates are lower,we get big 10 channel and the NFL Channel in our packages.being out of the city limits we have no choice but to get Dish or Directv. we have no other option also for internet. So there is an advantage to having charter for at least internet.when bad weather is around we cant get either at times.

About half of those channels you listed above are there for people to subscribe to. Charter wants to put NFL Network and BTN in the sports tier. I agree with them.

There are also instances say Charter wants USA, TNT, TBS channels on their cable. Then they are also given Oxygen, Hallmark, etc free of charge. And there are also a lot of channels out there that actually pay Charter to be included on their system.

I would love an a la carte system. But I think remember reading somewhere that for the $50 or so you spent a month already, you would probably only be able to get about 10 channels before the costs really start adding up.
