Residents evacuate Pathways
Residents of the Pathways Transitional Housing Project were evacuated briefly this morning when a wooden deck support caught on fire.
The fire was reported at 9:30 a.m. at 2817 Holiday Drive, Janesville, where the Salvation Army houses the program.
A pillar supporting a second-story deck was ablaze. Nothing burned inside the building.
Police and emergency response vehicles blocked the intersection of Holiday Drive and Clover Lane.
Residents were allowed back in the building before 10 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
