Sheriff’s department plans extra patrols
Starting Wednesday, more officers will focus on enforcing traffic laws along Interstate 90/39 in Rock County through the Thanksgiving weekend. In anticipation of heavy holiday traffic, special overtime was authorized for Rock County sheriff’s deputies and Wisconsin State Patrol troopers to dedicate their time to traffic enforcement on the Interstate. The extra patrols will continue through Sunday. The Rock County Sheriff’s Department encourages all drivers to obey all traffic laws to help reduce traffic accidents.

Finally some good comments when it concerns the police. If the Sheriff wanted to get deputies for the traffic specific patrols, it would cost a lot of more money, and that in turn would make a bunch of taxpayers cry about the extra cost.

I just wish the Rock County Sheriff had more resources(money) for extra traffic patrols throughout the County year round, I see Dane County is having deputies on duty just for traffic enforcement, Rock County could make all kinds of money if they would patrol Hwy 14 north of Evansville to the Dane County Line in the AM between 6:00 and 8:00. I know the Sheriff Dept. does the best they can with limited resources

Good. Now if we could only get them to Hwy.59 between Whitewater and Milton @ 2:30 pm. At least 3 cars that I know by heart will do over 85, pass on curvers and yellows. I have seen them push other cars in the ditch. Can't count the time I have got the finger for doing 60. It has been this way for over 3 years now. I have talked to many police about it. It is shift change and all know it. Rock and Walworth County did watch once and I thank them. They even called me back too let me know how they did. I got the feeling Whitewater though it was funny that they will pass you to the outside (where cars park) of your lane in town.

Well that's good. With that many more drivers out there, the more morons there are.
Too bad taxpayers wouldn't support this kind of enforcement more often.
