A man charged in connection with the Nov. 3 fire at the Janesville Odd Fellows lodge is to appear in Rock County Court Monday.

24-year-old Jeremy Allen Brown of Homewood, Alabama is charged with burglary, criminal damage to property and theft. He was arrested on a preliminary charge of arson, but prosecutors would have to prove he intentionally set the fire before charging him with arson.

According to the criminal complaint, Brown told Janesville police that after drinking at a downtown bar he went up to the Odd Fellows Lodge to use the bathroom. Brown claims he has no knowledge of what happened the next few hours. He says the next thing he remembers is being confronted by firefighters.

Brown remains in the Rock County Jail on $7,500 cash bond.
