UPDATED: Prison in lockdown
WAUPUN, Wis. (AP) - An inmate at the Waupun prison is holding a hostage, causing the institution to implement an emergency lockdown.
State corrections officials say Waupun Correctional Institution supervisors were notified about the incident about 6:30 this morning. The inmate had taken a non-uniformed dental technician hostage in a room at the prison's Health and Segregation Complex.
Authorities say the inmate hasn't verbally threatened the prison employee, and they're communicating with the inmate in an attempt to resolve the situation.
Corrections officials say there's no immediate threat to the surrounding neighborhood and that prison leaders are in touch with the family of the hostage.
A news conference is scheduled for later this morning.

Your right, Mark Staskals situation has nothing to do with this one. My point is, if someone could take a hostage in a controlled environment, what do you think could happen with Staskal being in the environment he's in? I'm comparing the two. It's my right.

What does Mark Staskal have to do with this situation? I understand people are frustrated about the Staskal situation, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the lockdown at Waupun.

What does that inmate really hope to accomplish? Just to disrupt things? Now he will get more charges.
