Education group report critical of Wisconsin
UNDATED (AP) - A national education organization is critical of Wisconsin's efforts to help low-performing students succeed.
The nonprofit group, Education Sector, says Wisconsin is overly optimistic about how its students are doing, in fact more so than other states.
Research manager Kevin Carey says Wisconsin policymakers are fooling parents by pretending that everything's perfect. And, that means the most vulnerable students aren't getting the help they need.
The organization based much of its assessment on data used to measure compliance with the federal No Child Left Behind law.
Wisconsin Deputy Superintendent Tony Evers objects to the group's assessment and says the state is focused on improving student achievement, especially of low-income and minority students.

This just goes to show that THROWING money at our education system is not the solution. We need to put some controls on our PROFESSIONAL adminstrators who seem to thrive on justifing thier own existance , and instead making the teachers responsable for thier performance !
