MADISON, Wis. (AP) - There are more delays for a new state prisons' computer system. It was supposed to be ready by June. But, now the Department of Corrections expects it won't be up and running until January. Corrections administrator Earl Fischer says the entire project probably won't be finished until a year or two after the target date of May 2009. The 25 million dollar project replaces four existing computer systems that track 23,000 current prisoners, as well as former prisoners and those released on probation or parole. Fischer says the state is paying a fixed price for outside contractors and won't pay more because of the delays.
