Doyle signs bill raising assessment for corn marketing
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Corn growers will pay higher taxes to market their products under a law signed by Governor Jim Doyle. Doyle has signed a bill that increases the voluntary assessment by 0.4 cents per bushel on top of the current tax of 0.1 cents per bushel. Both houses of the Legislature approved the bill late last month. The assessment is expected to generate about $900,000 per year for promoting and researching corn. The goal is to increase corn sales. Farmers who object can obtain rebates for the taxes they pay for the program.

I recently purchased some green beens in handy little one serving plastic containers. I thought it would be so, so easy just to pop some in the microwave.
That is, untill I read the box thoses handy beans came packaged in. "Made in China", the box read.
Needless to say, I threw those beans out. Oh sure, I could have taken a chance and eaten those beans. But my patriotic side tapped me on the shoulder and asked......
"Why do we need beans from China to begin with?"
We can support our own Country's food needs without importing food from China. I am sure.
It just seems to me, that we have to boycot Chinese made products for a period of not less than three years. Three years should be enough to ignite this Country's self pride once again.....
Bless us, one and all and long live the Flag.
