Council approves 2008 budget
City taxes on an average $112,700 home rise by $21 under a 2008 city budget approved unanimously Monday by the Janesville City Council. That number is slightly higher than the proposed $17.70 increase because of adjustments in the state budget. The council made only one change, moving $5,000 earmarked for mowing city parks to the Tallman House. The Tallman House will receive $57,264 from the city in 2008—about 12 percent less than this year.
