EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) - The father of the son who killed his sister warned dozens of Eau Claire residents that his child remains a danger to society. Mark Staskal was released to an Eau Claire group home yesterday, despite objections from his parents and others. Staskal has been at the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison for the last 23 years, after killing his 16-year-old sister, Marcy. Staskal's father, Redgie, told those at an information meeting yesterday that his son won't be able to handle it and could eventually kill again. The elder Staskal says the group home doesn't have the resources or personnel to handle his son. An attorney from the Eau Claire law firm Weld, Riley, Prenn and Ricci says it plans to file for a temporary restraining order to place Staskal elsewhere.

they should have listen to Redgie at the hearing now this law firm wants to move him elswhere. It should have never happened in the first place with what the group home said already about how they run the home....Please God forgive the judge for this placement and grant forgivness onto everyone that set him free.....

Having lived in Milton all my life and having gone to school with Mark,I do not believe he would target his rage at strangers. (IMHO) He should be kept locked up forever, the Staskals have been to hell and back.

...and if he does escape ...who is to say we who live in his hometown of Milton are safe either....He would come back here I would think as it is the only place he knows. I am afraid for our Milton residents as well.

Redgie Staskal should be awarded a medal! Mark needs to be back in Mendota.. if he would kill his sister he will have no problem killing a stranger!
