A Badger High School junior will be charged as an adult with homicide by intoxicated driving, Walworth County District Attorney Phil Koss said.

Krystal A. Hart, 16, of Genoa City, had a blood alcohol level of 0.11 percent Saturday morning when she reportedly collided with another driver on County H in Geneva Township, Koss said.

Authorities believe she may have also recently used marijuana, Koss said.

Hart's Mercury Sable was traveling northbound in the southbound lane and slammed into a Chevy Beretta driven by 54-year-old Everardo Chimal Lopez, of Delavan, according to an accident report. Lopez died at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center at 3:43 a.m., about an hour after the head-on collision, according to Deputy Coroner Ron Wilson.

Koss was unsure where Hart was traveling to or from.
