Cellular tower wins approval
A cell-phone tower can go up at Marshall Middle School, the Janesville Plan Commission decided Monday. On a 4-3 vote, the commission narrowly approved a conditional-use permit for the tower, which was proposed by U.S. Cellular. The company says it needs the tower to improve coverage on the city's east side. A handful of neighbors opposed it, saying it would be an eyesore and dangerous for children.
