McGuire charged in federal court
The Janesville Gazette has learned that the Rev. Donald J. McGuire is being charged with sex crimes in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois.
McGuire, who was denied a retrial yesterday by Walworth County Judge James Carlson, was arrested after the hearing for a probation violation.
He will be in front of a magistrate judge at 3:30 p.m. for an initial appearance where a date and time will be set for a bail setting and preliminary hearing, according to a clerk of courts office employee.
A copy of the criminal complaint was not immediately available to The Janesville Gazette.

Finally.
No more can the life of the priest be a metaphor for the life of a pedophile.
It looks like we will finally witness the end to McGuire's 38 year reign as the Pedophile Priest.
That he was allowed by the Jesuits to live as a pedophile while masquerading as a priest is inexcusable.
That the Jesuits slink away with only a weak apology from the head of the Chicago order and another weak letter to Judge James Carlson Thursday~that's inexcusable as well. They should be outraged but there is no outrage because of their complicity in McGuire's exploits.
I sincerely hope that the Jesuits aren't thinking "Well, we cut McGuire loose, so now we can go back to business as usual."
There's no more business as usual for the Jesuit orders or any religious organization whose members are found to be abusing their constituents.
It was difficult, but not impossible, to "get" McGuire. The next priest accused of abuse will be easier to "get." And the next, and the next. All easier. When, as now, people come forward and name names it should be clear to the Jesuits that pedophilia by priest cannot and will not be tolerated.
As for Donald McGuire: he's where he should be, in the hands of the Feds. I can't resist saying that it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.
