WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) - The state Transportation Department reports that with two months left in the year, traffic crashes on Wisconsin roads and highways have killed 635 people. That's up seven percent from a year ago, mostly because more motorcyclists have been killed. Daniel Lonsdorf of the agency's Bureau of Transportation Safety in Madison says more people are driving motorcycles to save money, putting more of them on the roads. The Transportation Department says the 635 fatalities have occurred in 563 accidents, compared with 595 deaths in 550 accidents at the same time a year ago. According to state records, 110 motorcycle riders have been killed - 23 more than a year ago at this time.
