Salvation Army nears Christmas goal but still needs $9,000
The Salvation Army still needs $9,000 to reach its 2007 Christmas fund-raising goal.
The money will be used to fund the local religious and charitable organization’s programs: the social service office, food pantry, noon feeding and transitional housing programs plus the community center. “We count on late donations to continue to come in after Christmas to meet the goal,’’ said Capt. Kirk Schuetz, commanding officer.
As of Wednesday, $276,455, or 97 percent of the $285,000 goal, had been raised.
