From the National Weather Service:

A Winter storm watch is in effect from Friday morning through Friday afternoon.

Snow is expected to develop across the area later Thursday night and more likely Friday morning. The snow may become heavy on Friday as a low pressure system heads northeast from the southern plains.

Just thinking about winters when I was a little kid makes me smile. My kids are 6 yrs. and 8 yrs. old and they are wondering when the snow will stop. I love fall and winter, this doesn't bother me. The ice and freezing conditions afterwards is what worries me and I do send prayers out to all who have to be in it whether it be for work or other reasons. This reminds me of when I was little and the winters on the sleds, tubes, and discs down the hill with the jumps you were sure you were going to fly WAY UP THERE with. After this winter the complaints of spring and summer come and then it is back to winter. People have you forgotten where you live? You live in WI, give the wehter 10 minutes, it may change.

I am so glad that you will be happy about the snow while you are in the Bahamas. It is very courageous of you.

I am soooo THANKFUL it is NOT hot and humid like it was this past summer. WE can ALWAYS get warmer....you can only take so much off and still be presentable....just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay off the roads when the storm hits!! It is so tragic when someone's life is taken because of the weather. STAY HOME and enjoy your family. One missed day of work is NOT going to matter in a years time, but a life lost WILL. Stay safe.

we are getting ready for vacation in the Bahamas. As I was looking up weather today for Nassau and Miami (the port we are leaving from), I was a bit jealous....for a second! It's is upper 70s to low 80s there today. But, then I remembered that almost the entire months of August and September it rains in Miami. Couple that with hurricane season (or earthquakes on the West coast), I think I will take 2-3 months of snow and be happy about it :) Drive safe, everyone!!

I agree with gwendt 100%! NEVER complain about the snow. Come on, Mother Nature! It's worth taking longer to get somewhere if our summers can be green! Water is the essence of life. Besides, the snowmobilers deserve ONE good season of riding:)

A snow storm, again you say?! In WI, again?! It is almost like we are living in a snow globe and someone is just shaking it up anytime they want to watch the snow fall! Just wait for the storm, give it five minutes and then it will change to something else, not saying that that something else will be better, just saying that it will change to something else! I love WI!
