State ends deal with voter registration vendor
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - State elections officials have canceled their deal with a software vendor that was supposed to develop a new statewide voter registration system.
The state has pumped nearly $23 million into the project, but state Elections Board officials say Accenture's work has been fraught with problems.
The board issued a statement saying Accenture has agreed to hand over a list of repairs that are needed, provide the software codes to the state and waive nearly $2 million in payments. Accenture also has agreed to pay the board $4 million to avoid a lawsuit.
The contract was supposed to end in 2010.

They pumped $23 million into this project before they admitted it didn't work? They should feel bad. bad enough that they should lower the gasoline tax to make up for it.
