One person is dead in a house on Beloit's east side. Firefighters responded to 1254 Wisconsin Avenue around 5 A.M. Wednesday morning and found the house fully involved.

The house was occupied by one family consisting of two adults and six children. One of the adults died in the fire.

Beloit Police Captain Bill Tyler says the police and fire departments are conducting a joint investigation to determine the origin of the fire and the exact circumstances of the death.

Beloit called for mutual aid in fighting the fire. Among the departments answering the call were South Beloit and Town of Beloit.
