MILWAUKEE (AP) - At least one person is dead after this weekend's winter storm that hit much of the state.

The Trempealeau County sheriff's department says 23-year-old Sara Spohn, of Arcadia, died yesterday afternoon in Galesville after she lost control of her vehicle on a snow-covered road.

She apparently crossed the centerline and was struck by an oncoming pickup truck. Two people in the other vehicle had minor injuries.

The snow started in that area yesterday. According to the National Weather Services, they've received more than 10 inches since then.

Various sheriff's departments in the state and the State Patrol are advising most drivers to stay off the roads because of poor visibility and slippery roads.
