Tough month for snow removal
Don't feel bad if you're having trouble keeping up with snow removal.
This winter has been a snowy one so far, and a lot of folks are having trouble keeping their sidewalks and driveways clean. Among them, City of Janesville Operations Director John Whitcomb says it's not the large amount of snow that's the problem. He says the freezing rain causes much of the problem. Whitcomb says crews have been working hard, including two recent nights hauling snow away from the downtown. If you want to have an idea how much snow has been moved, check out Dawson's field. And all this snow, ice, and work can take a toll on more than an already exhausted city budget.
The good news, early forecasts predict the snow removal crews might have Christmas day off.

I think we should all cut the snow removal crews some slack! They are doing the best they can. People complain when there is a little bit of snow and they don't plow, and yet if they did our taxes would go up. Others complain when they do plow and think the job is done to their standards. Put yourself in their shoes, try having to drive around parked cars that have not been moved since the 1st snowfall. I think they are doing a great job

What's new. Whenever it snows the snow removal crews have the day off.
