Three more city council candidates
JANESVILLE
A Lear Corp. employee, a pharmaceutical salesperson and a retired doctor are the 11th, 12th and 13th people to consider running for Janesville City Council in April.
The three newest candidates circulating nomination papers are:
-- Jason Guernsey, 28, of 333 Home Park Ave., who works in quality assurance at Lear Corp.
-- Kathy Voskuil, 48, of 3417 Amhurst Road, who is a pharmaceutical salesperson for Pfizer.
-- Jeffrey C. Thomas, 67, of 417 Waveland Road, a retired doctor and perennial political candidate.
They join Kevin Bishop, K. Andreah Briarmoon, Karl Dommershausen, Richard Ellingson, David Henke, George Mark, Billy R. McCoy, Tom McDonald, Kelly O’Brien and Yuri D. Rashkin, who already have taken out papers.
Three of seven council seats will open up in April because incumbents Tim Wellnitz, Paul Williams and Craig DeGarmo are stepping down.
Candidates were allowed to start circulating nomination papers Dec. 1. To get their names on the ballot, candidate must collect 200 to 400 valid signatures from Janesville residents.
Nomination papers are due at the city clerk’s office Jan. 2.

I think it's a great thing to see so many people, and such a diverse group running for office. I think it says A LOT, on how unhappy people are with our current council.
Good luck to everyone!

Now we need to make sure both Thomas and Briarmoon don't win.

Been awhile since I've seen Dr. Thomas on a ballot! I wonder if ol' Jeff is back to driving yet or is he still pedaling his bike around town?
