ROCK COUNTY — Rock County is receiving almost $48,000 from the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program, or SCAAP. Sheriff Bob Spoden says the federal government provides reimbursement for overtime and operating expenses related to housing the illegal aliens. He says the aliens stay in the jail until the county receives notification from the federal government about whether the aliens will be deported, released or stay in jail.

Maybe they could give them all shovels and they could clean up all of the snow in driveways and county roads that everybody was complaining about. And if one gets hit ohh well one less back in the cell for the night. And Rock county wonders why the jail is over crowded.

WHETHER they will be deported, RELEASED (??) or stay in jail.
This shouldn't be a multiple choice question.

Are we already housing them, but now getting reimbursement? Otherwise I agree with the prior postings. Would like to see the Gazette follow up.

I thought the jail was overcrowded too. Maybe this is just another ploy to try to get this new jail. They'll probably even arrange for more jail tours and have it look messy so that we, the public can think..."Oh, they do need a new jail." That whole place is a joke...its all lies. What they should do is give the public a tour of their offices and tell the public how much all of their remodeling then costed the taxpayers. That sheriff and his so called administration isn't thinking about the jail.

How about immediate deportation. Once you proove their illegal send them back in a plane and push them out with a parachute!
