Janesville plans plowing
From the City of Janesville:
Winter weather including freezing rain and snow is forecast from Monday night, December 10, through Tuesday, December 11. The City of Janesville anticipates implementing plowing operations and requests that citizens remove their cars from all streets to aid in the plowing effort. A snow emergency has not yet been declared because accumulating snow and sleet is not expected to exceed two inches in depth. A snow emergency may be called if forecast weather changes and residents are advised to monitor local media and the City's website for updates.

I don't think that janesville does that bad of a job plowing if everyone would get there cars off the street. My neighbors have their cars parked in the road and they haven't moved them in over week. they haven't gotten tickets or their vehicles towed away. That would really help these streets get plowed well

I understand the city has many roads to plow when it snows. I don't expect my street to be plowed immediately. However, I would appreciate it if my street was plowed sometime. It is an issue of safety.

This is crazy, the city has not even plowed my street in 4 days now. I can't even get my $60,000 jaguar out of the garage, so I have to use my hummer just to get around !!

I'm sure the City said, "Hey, lets NOT plow these guys JUST to tick them off!"

hmm.. I find it interesting, I bet your street has been plowed more than once. There are several streets THAT HAVE NOT BEEN PLOWED since the first snow fall. Yesterday before the snow I measured and took pictures of 9 inches of snow that was not plowed by the curb.
Okay, I regress, lets just blame global warming.

I believe the city knows how to plow but I'm sure it's difficult to be able to get to every street in a short amount of time..
We live in a apartment complex and it's their job to come and shovel the sidewalks but we know how hard it is to get to every one and we get out there and do ours to try to lighten the load with no complaining.
Just be patient people!

If if makes you feel any better, I live in a "rich" part of town and my street hasnt been plowed either! So you must have been on the wrong rich side of town. That is just ridiculous to even think that.

I think they do a good job on the main roads but not so on all the rest. We just moved and the road was only plowed with the first snow. Our old road was plowed everytime it just took some time. They don't have to do it right away but it would be nice if they could get to it in a couple days. It does not help that the construction crew down the road has a truck and a trialer in the road. I quess they don't have to have their stuff off the street like the rest of us.

Do you people who think "the rich" get special road plowing privledges know how rediculous you sound? Unless you are severely handicapped, you could help your community out and grab a shovel. Your tax money goes towards many things, not just snow removal...don't be so cynical. If you want to see someone who really has something to gripe about, go visit a homeless shelter or skid row this time of year, and then try to convince yourself again, that a bit of snow on your road is such a hardship.

The city DID declare a snow emergency for the last snowfall, which means people are not to park on the roads so they can plow ALL the streets completely. However, I know in my area of town none of the side streets have been cleared.
I think if you are going to issue a snow emergency, and we in fact get a decent amount of snow, (which we did in my opinion), then they should follow through and plow the roads.
