City watching weather conditions
The city of Janesville is not yet plowing snow, said Assistant Operations Director Mandy Bonneville.
"We're taking a wait and see approach," Bonneville said.
Bonneville advises homeowners to do the same. Watch the forecast, she said, and don't shovel your driveway until the snow and rain stop.
If you clear your driveway before the rain stops, you will end up with glare ice on the driveway, Bonneville said.

Personally, I would pay higher taxes to have my streets plowed.

It amazes me how quick people are to criticize. Do you really think streets are purposely not plowed based on income or some other irrelevant factor?
I personally am thankful that someone is looking to prudently strategize to minimize the time and expense of running the plows, and trying to use my tax dollars wisely. thanks also to the drivers - I appreciate you!

I just wish people would appreciate what services our city supplies us and until we all are in the office, lets just trust they do the best they know how.

and if the temp. goes down fast ater it is all over you won't be able to clear it. then they will get all over you for not clearing it in the first place. Same goes for the plowing. get it done now or the streets will be nothing but ruts. of course the budget it already shot so don't expect much. Smile it is only gonna get worse. Merry Christmas.
