The tribes involved in Beloit's casino project are asking the US District Court in Washington D.C. to prevent a change in procedures by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Those tribes say a change in the approval process which makes it easier to deny off-reservation applications is unlawful. The suit also states the personal views of the Secretary of Interior have impacted Beloit's application process.

I am a resident of Beloit, we already have the big city problems that so many people predict will be the result of a casino. The casino itself will have a small effect on the economy but the other business development which is part of this plan should have a large economic benefit. I would love to see the Bad River tribe build their casino here. The Ho Chunk tribe has been fighting this project for obvious economic reasons; it would draw people here that would otherwise travel to the Ho Chunk casinos. Beloit is in the middle of a tribal war and I’m pulling for the underdog.

I support the casino. I enjoy the gamble once in awhile. And the Dells and Dubuque are quite a bit away. Probably a lot of the people that are against this are the same type of people that like to be able to tell you how you should live your life.

It’s not the people that are apposed to this. It’s the Ho Chunk Nation that doesn’t want this. If the Beloit casino gets put in Ho Chunk will lose a lot of the Illinois gamblers

Why do people oppose this so much, it would bring in so many jobs in our area and have a great impact of our economy, whether you are a gambler or not, it doesnt mean that beloit and surrounding areas even the state would not benefit from the casino, I love to gamble I am not an addict but I do enjoy going to the casino from time to time, it would be nice to just drive down to beloit instead of driving up to Ho Chunk or over to dubuque, agree or not, this will help in the larger sense!!
