State Senate plans to pass measure banning 'Frankenstein Veto'
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The state Senate is scheduled to vote next week on a proposal to ban the so-called Frankenstein veto.
The Assembly also would have to agree to putting the measure before voters on April 1.
The proposal would amend the state constitution to limit the governor's veto power. Currently, governors can cross out words and numbers and stitch together others to create new laws not approved by the Legislature.
Gov. Jim Doyle used the power to increase education spending two years ago, and this year he stitched together numbers in the budget to increase property taxes.
The Senate will take up the measure Tuesday.

The Gazette and their higher ups won't be happy until everything and everyone in this country believes everything that Fox New spews.
Now if we could just get them to quit the eastside and Craig Cougar bias in the newspaper.

Obviously, gwendt, the Gazette owners/editors cant stand turn-about. And they carp about the liberal press!
Did Doyle's line-item veto actually raise taxes or did it give municipalities the option to do so if needed?
