The Wisconsin State Patrol and Janesville Police are in the process of closing a portion of westbound Interstate 90 at Milton Avenue in Janesville, a police shift supervisor said.

An accident occurred on the Interstate north of Milton Avenue, but authorities could not provide any details.

Police scanners have been constant with numerous other crashes reported throughout the area as the snow begins to fall.

Here are some winter driving tips.

Not all crashes are driver error sometimes IT IS WEATHER. you can be very cautious when driving and be doing exactly what you are suposed to, but if you hit black ice on the road you have no controll over what that car is going to do or hit. That people is called an ACCIDENT.

Actually, law enforcement no longer calls them accidents, they call them crashes. There is no such thing as an accident, some sort of driver error is ALWAYS involved.

On my way home from Portage today, I saw 2 buses; 2 semi-trucks, jack-knifed and in the ditch; several cars and trucks also in the ditch. From what I could tell, most of it was because others were driving too darn fast for the conditions!

AGAIN: SLOW DOWN and keep a SAFE distance between you and the other drivers! There is nothing worth risking your life for, or the lives of others!!

What makes me mad is that people have known for awhile now that the bad weather was coming today!! Why don't they give themselves the extra time to get where they're going instead of putting others at risk?!
