Alliant working to restore power
Alliant Energy crews are working to restore power to customers in the Edgerton area and throughout Walworth County, a spokesman said.
Power should be restored to the 16 customers in the rural Edgerton area by 9 p.m., as well as about 230 customers scattered around Williams Bay, Lake Geneva and Walworth, Scott Reigstad said.
Crews on the scene reported trees and wires down, he said.
“We’ve had actually very good luck today,” he said. “Iowa hasn’t been as lucky.”
Power in Iowa was out for about 10,000 to 19,000 customers at a time, he said.
The Janesville operation center is on standby as the rain and ice storm is expected to continue through midnight, he said.

I too have the highest regard for Alliant crews. Iam over 80 and can remember as a kid (1930')small town, sitting on the curb and watching them climb up the poles with the spikes, we were so fascinated. Then world war 2 came along and I think many of them went into the army signal corp. So thank you, we can always depend on you, you cannot say that about to many companies today.

People don't realize what these crews have do go through to restore electric. While everyone is home snug in bed they're out there in the snow and rain and whatever. Thanks Alliant.
