Rock River drought

The city might find lots of valuable stuff, such as street signs and manhole covers. ... I would wear boots out there. You never know what nasty stuff is hiding in the mud.

Maybe somebody ought to get a cleanup organized. I'd be happy to take a Saturday and help. Better to do it now while the river is low.

Seems like a prime opportunity to clean the junk out of the river.

A friend took me kayaking for the first time ever the other day. We put in at the boat launch on Afton rd and got out at Happy Hollow park. I would say that for well over 1/2 of the trip I could touch bottom with my paddle. It was worse in the Janesville area.

The next Rock River Sweep event is in September; I wonder if the river will stay this low even if the normal rain patterns return.

It would be interesting to see how many bowling balls come out near the bowling ally.

maybe this would be a good time to gather some volunteers and clean some of the garbage out of there, I'd be willing to wade in and get muddy!!!
