Mr. Ryan, you're missing a great weekend in Janesville!

By STEVE KNOX   Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 6:28 a.m.

Gotcha!  This has nothing to do with politics but I bet Paul Ryan wishes he was home for the weekend because there's a TON of things going on today in Janesville.

If you hurry you can make the second annual 1/2 marathon, 10K and 5K which start from Riverside Park at 7:00 a.m. Portions of the proceeds go to the Rock Cancer Coalition.  Afterwards, you can refuel with food from the Farmers Market downtown. That runs from 8-1.

You may have a few minutes to catch your breath before heading to the World Waterski Show Tournament. Teams from China, Australia, Belgium, Canada and the US will perform starting at 9 this morning. If you need a break from the thrills of the show, wander back downtown for the Art Splash. Local artist will be displaying their talents in and around Courthouse Park this afternoon.

Wow!  Nothing to do?  I don't think so. I'm so thankful I live in Janesville, Wisconsin!  I know there's more going on this weekend. What did I miss?

I think its sad when people consider things like this "things to do". How intense it is watching a half marathon anyway? Sorry... all the real action was in Beloit this weekend.

It's true, Steve. I saw Ryan in church Sunday, but not at Saturday's Rock River Valley Woodcarvers show (see my blog on the show).

Aren't they going to rededicate the Les Aspin Post Office...again....one of the two bills that Ryan created during his entire time in Congress? The other being one relating to a tax on arrows; as in bows and arrows. Now there's a legislator and agent for change!!
