Young and the Restless - It's good enough for Jesse "The Body"
Genoa City, Wisconsin is just a hop, skip and jump from Janesville. I'm surprised Victor Neuman or Catherine Chanchlor haven't passed through on the way to an important meeting.
If your not getting the character reference I'm writing about The Young and the Restless. Yep, another admission - I watch Y&R.
I razzed my wife for years about watching that daytime garbage. Then we had our first child and Saturday nights became snuggle-in nights, especially in the winter. Since Soapnet replayed the entire Y&R week on Saturday nights it would mysteriously appear on the tube. Begrudgingly, I watched one episode - then another. Damn you Victor! I was hooked.
CBS added Y&R to their online video content a few years ago. Now we can watch whenever we want...even on the mobile.
Yep, I'm metroman. I think that Gen-X guys have an easier time enjoying previous generation "non-guy" things. I know my dad doesn't understand and I know my grandpa would be giving me a really hard time. Hey, Jesse "The Body" Ventura watches!
At least my friends just razz in good fun. I know they have some of the same "metro" vices. Can you believe Adam & Sharon?!?

Although I have watched Y & R my favs are General Hospital, One life to live and All my children.

I first got addicted to soaps years ago during summer vacation when Luke & Laura were getting married. I have watched them ever since.
*
The biggest laugh I ever got was when I went yo U-Rock. It was lunchtime and I sat down to eat in front of the tv, watching my soaps, when a group of guys came in and watched too. I thought they would be upset that a soap was on and want to change to some dumb sport thing, but NOPE they were really into the characters and knew who was married to who, who was sleeping around and all of the other details of the show. Who would have thought that...not me. In fact at one point I had to tape a few episodes and bring them to class with me for those guys to catch up on the show if they missed it. One guy purposely scheduled his classes around G.H... he wouldn't miss it for the world.

It's actually Victor Newman and Katherine Chancellor. Long time (30+ years) Y&R viewer here.

When I first met my husband in college he was addicted to Days of our Lives. I mean what else is there to watch in the afternoon between classes! I thought he was weird, but I got hooked too (and was for many years after). I tried to get back into it recently, but with characters dying, divorcing, having children, coming back from the dead...I couldn't muster enough patience to figure it all out again!
