Thanks for the safe journey.
Driving into work I was at the corner of Milton Ave and Memorial and watched the Adams school adult crossing guard at work.
I was reminded of MY walk to school, that very intersection, every day - rain or shine. EVERYONE walked to and from school. The crossing guard was never lonely and the child / crossing guard relationship was special.
The crossing guard knew your name, noticed if you didn't walk by yesterday and asked how you were doing - then listened to the answer.
The crossing guard looked at your art project, asked about your grades and wished you a great weekend.
I have fond memories of the crossing guard, and of walking to school, and of playing the snow on my way home.
So thank you crossing guards for being another caring adult in the life of a child!

I too had kind and friendly crossing guards, Mr. Brown and Mr. Ludeman, when I was in elementary school. They greeted me every morning with a smile and knew my name. Very fond memory of attending Washington Elementary in Whitewater.

(nicksmom - I could not agree more) I had the same kind of crossing guard when I was in elementary school. It's great to have that kind of person watching out for the kids and interacting with them every day. I hope they still do.

I hope the capitalized words don't mean you're taking over Eyster's writing style. One blog of shouting workds is one too many.
