Your class is a CRUISE??
My lucky son is travelling next week. He has a January Term and he is taking a class called: Politics and the Economy of the Caribbean.
He has "in classroom" work he's doing this week and then he heads to Miami and takes a 3 night cruise, spends a day or two in Key West and then takes a 7 night cruise.
Really. Well, I hope he takes pictures so he can enjoy them when he writes his student loan checks!

A little harsh there mom. first off, a solid education is a good investment. second, the article states nothing about "not being able to afford it". With student loan rates so low, a person would be foolish not to take them even if they have money in the bank. My daughter took every cent they would give her even though she has her tuition in the bank. It's earning money, and most loan interest doesn't start until she is done. at that time, she writes a big check and washes her hands of it. She will have made money off of "other peoples money."

Sounds like fun, but just another example of someone taking a loan for something they can't afford. If you need a loan you can't afford it! Student loan debt currently exceeds credit card debt for the first time in our nations history. Many students are graduating with debt that far exceeds what they will be able to pay back once they start working & spending tens of thousands of dollars to obtain degrees that don't justify the expense & then cry foul as per the occupy movement demanding student loan forgiveness. As far as I'm concerned the entire nation should be required to take Dave Ramsey's course.
