Mom, it's parent's weekend

By BECKY WEBER-JOHNSON   Saturday, October 22, 2011 - 6:55 a.m.

The text from my son yesterday made my heart happy. He wants to see me. He wants me to come to spend a day with him.

This summer he called, didn't text, and asked me for advice! Not for money, not for groceries - but for advice!

I was sure this day would come when I was no longer stupid, and he didn't always know everything. My mother told me what a great day it would be.

My mother was right. Knowing that the boy wants to see me, and not just so that I'll take him to dinner, is a great feeling.

I'm a bit surprised to find it happening so soon, I'm sure I was a little older when I finally gave my mother this feeling.

Enjoy every age - even when you are an idiot - because it all is gone in a blink!

Do you remember the moment you decided your folks weren't stupid?
