Here’s a chance for all of you out there who like to complain about the city or school district spending your money. Or maybe you just want to get involved.

Now is the time to take out papers and get signatures to run for local office. Evansville has the mayor’s and four city council seats up for election, and the school board has two seats up for election.

The election is Tuesday, April 6. The deadline to file nomination papers for the school board is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, while papers for city positions have until 5 p.m. that day with the respective clerks.

The following seats are up for election:

OFFICE//INCUMBENT

Mayor//Sandy Decker

Alderperson District 1//Mason C. Braunschweig

Alderperson District 2//Janis Ringhand

Alderperson District 3//Tony Wyse

Alderperson District 4//Todd A. Culbertson

School board member//Melissa Hammann

School board member//Jeff Herbers

City council and mayor positions are for two-year terms while school board members would serve a three-year term.
