My new fifth-grade friends
I got the coolest card in the mail today.
It's from Mrs. Richards' fifth-grade class at Van Buren Elementary School.
I read to the class April 17 as part of the Janesville School District's Co-operation Read project. Read this blog by Beth Wheelock and Kayla Bunge to learn more about it.
Today, I got a giant thank-you card from the class. They wrote about their favorite poems from the book I read, "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein. They even remembered that after I read the poem "Peanut Butter Sandwich," I told them peanut butter cups were my favorite candy. So they taped a bunch of peanut butter cups to the card.
What a great reminder of the fun time I had with Mrs. Richards' class. I hope you all keep reading and keep being such nice students!

I saw the card. It, as the kids would say, totally rocks. It's a good lesson to teach the kids too, that you express thanks to someone who does something nice for you.
