Hello, Gazetteers!

The Young Professionals are meeting this Thursday. Before you ask, we don't need documentation that you're under 40. Feel free to stop by, regardless of your age. Email me with questions (bwheelock@wclo.com)

The Rock County Young Professionals Group will hold their next networking event at the Wright Museum of Art located at 700 College St. on the Beloit College campus on Thursday, December 2nd, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. We’ll enjoy networking, appetizers and cocktails throughout the evening while learning about Beloit College, its history and all it has to offer. This is the last event for 2010, so bring a friend or two and experience the uniqueness that is Beloit College. Don’t miss out on the chance to see what we’ll be up to in 2011!

About the Wright Museum of Art:

The Wright Museum of Art serves as a teaching museum as its mission helps to advance the educational goals of Beloit College. During the evening, you’ll have the chance to see how the Museum provides the college and local community with diverse opportunities to appreciate, interact with, and understand the visual arts through exhibitions, collections and programming.

Cost is the customary $5.00.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, and we hope to see you at our upcoming event!

Sincerely, The RCYP Board

At our upcoming event, we will also have our annual toy drive. This year we will be donating toys to ECHO and Salvation Army! So don't forget when you're hitting up the holiday sales, to pick up an item for those who may go without this year. Please remember that the items must remain unwrapped.

Last year, with the Young Professionals' help, ECHO provided Christmas toys for 1,208 children. Please keep in mind children of all ages when shopping; many times teens are forgotten. Some good gift examples are: CDs, DVDs, cosmetics, hair care products, sporting goods, even cool mittens or socks. They will not give out items that are R-rated or MA.

We're looking forward to a great turnout and a Happy Holidays for underprivileged kids!

After the holidays, join in the fun for our White Elephant Silent Auction. It's a chance to clean out your closets, do a little shopping, and join some friendly competition. Last year's auction provided more than $200 to Community Action. This year, we're donating the proceeds to the YWCA's CARE House. This is a facility that helps children of abuse, and is losing a large portion of its funding. Click here for more information on the CARE House: http://www.ywca.org/site/pp.asp?c=brKMIXNLF&b=63161
