A very arty Christmas
My husband and I still were searching for one last Christmas present Saturday, so we, along with fellow OTCers Kayla Bunge and Ann Marie Ames, stopped at the new Artisan Co-op at 6 S. Main St.
We walked out with a unique piece of jewelry for a family member and a gorgeous, soft wool shrug for me. (Merry Christmas to myself!) My husband still doesn't get the point of a shrug (men, ask your wives or girlfriends to explain and see if they do a better job than I did), but we all agreed that the new store is a great addition to Janesville's downtown.
The store has more than 40 artists, according to one of the co-op members I talked to. It had a great variety of prices and items. Merchandise included framed and non-framed photos and prints, jewelry, wooden bowls, toys, hats and scarves. There even were some adorable penguin and snowman statues made from recycled light bulbs. Who knew?
So if you need a few last-minute items, why not stop by the store today? I know I'll be back -- I've got my eye on a cute knit poncho. Merry Christmas, everyone!
