Kickin' it really old school

Growing up, one of my family's favorite things to do in summer was visit the Bristol Renaissance Faire near Kenosha. It's pretty dorky, and therefore right up my alley. You get to see people dressed up in 16th-century costume speaking in fun English accents and doing crazy things. Plus do some fabulous shopping.

So I'm pretty excited about a mini-version of the Bristol fair coming to Traxler Park this weekend. I haven't been able to go in past years, but I'm determined to go Saturday. It looks like they'll have lots of vendors, shows and, most importantly, food. Tickets are only $6 if you bring a canned good for local food pantries.
