Janesville's flooded ... with text messages
I wish there was a way to count the number of text messages sent across Janesville on Friday night as friends told friends that Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson were at the Olive Garden.
Really? The Olive Garden? That absolutely cracked me up.
Walking back to my car after Freedom Fest, about every other word I heard drifting out of front lawns and garages was "Jessica."
I got three texts myself, including one from my brother, who normally only texts about twice a year and only about fishing.
I was guilty of sending two texts. I claimed it was because I thought it was funny, but I suppose I'm guilty of a little long-distance star gazing.
Romo, a Burlington native, is in town for the Ray Fischer State Medal Play Championship at Riverside Golf Course.
Sports reporter John Barry said the couple were at Spirits Thursday night.
If Jessica's bored today, I would show her around Janesville. I think I'd get her a diet Sun Drop and take her to Carousel Consignments.
Then Italian House for lunch. Or El Jardin if she's tired of Italian.
Then I would take her picture in front of Bessie the Cow.
Finally, we'd go to Frostee Freeze.
That's a good day.

Ps. can i say how mad i was because just on a whim i wanted to go to Spirits thursday night and it was extremely crowded and come to find out they were there...and i didnt go and then i meet jessica saturday...

Fgb there was no security just her,tonys mom and 3 other woman no one noticed til about 15 mins after she was in. she was very casual in a denim shorts jumpsuit and HUGE wedge heels

It is wonderful to see so many nice & positive comments for this couple. I wish more people would just be more open to trying to get to know Jessica & forget all this tabloid crap. Tony has integrity & so does Jessica for that matter so leaving Tony with his integrity he has chosen woman for him. She is an awesome girl with a huge heart as does Tony. They make a great couple.

I just heard about them being in town! That's crazy. Were they staying at the Holiday Inn?
Did she have security with her at Old Navy? I wonder if they watched the fireworks on Friday since they were right by them?

I agree, Fremont Street is the best! The Stripe is over-rated. Sorry for all you Vegas lovers, but Sin City is overrated as well. Just my opinion after visiting family that lived in Henderson for many years.

aames..my parents were really good friends with the couple that hosted a rehearsal dinner at their house for one of the guys in Bruce Springstien's band. He and the whole band were there. Top that!! (heehee:)

Jessica came into my work yesterday around 11:30 she was super nice, and no one noticed her at first, but then once people realized it was her everyone was all over her. I felt bad she wanted to shop in peace, and at the end she seemed a little annoyed

Cute blog!! lol Nice to see the majority are accepting & respectful. That must feel very good to them & helps them both relax. 8 months & still wethering the storm & doing pretty good with it. Hopefully Tony continues great golf today. They make a great looking couple & I wish both well.

I used to hang out with Tony Romo's cousin when he lived in Janesville. We went to UWW together. I didn't actually get to meet Romo, but his cousin would have stories about seeing Carrie Underwood at family gatherings, etc. Come to think of it, his cousin used to work at that Olive Garden...
