How on Earth Does this Book Work?

By JAMIE SWENSON   Wednesday, December 28, 2011 - 1:19 p.m.

If anyone in your family received an e-reader of any type this year -- you may very well be asking this very question. I, for one, spent a fair amount of time IMing with a very helpful person at Amazon while trying to get my mom’s new e-reader up and running correctly. Good grief. I also gave her a REAL book - which, surprisingly, didn’t require any set-up at all (hee hee).

Nevertheless … many folks did receive some cool electronic-booky gadgets lately - and never fear - the Hedberg Public Library is here to assist you in figuring out how to download books and audiobooks from Overdrive (the library’s e-book provider). Here’s the scoop:

Learn to Download eBooks with Overdrive

Learn the basics of downloading e-books and audiobooks to your computer or device. (Windows, Mac, Nook, iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, iPad or Sony E-Reader and many more.) General understanding of computer operations required. Free and open to the public.

Sound good? Call 758-6600 for more information.

Happy Downloading …
