The blotter
A Janesville man called police saying his "house was falling apart and that he needed help and no one was helping him."
Criminal complaint: Two Beloit people met in a parking lot for a drug deal. One driver fled after stealing drugs or money from the second driver. The second driver chased the first driver and rammed the first driver’s vehicle.
Zap! A Beloit man arrested on a warrant was charged with possession of an electric weapon. He is accused of carrying a stun gun.
A mother and daughter got into an argument. The daughter is accused of grabbing a butcher's knife and swinging it around. She also is suspected of stabbing the wall twice.
A tenant in a Janesville apartment building went to the laundry room and found someone sleeping.
Twelve windows were broken out at the abandoned General Motors property.

Thank you, fiveonearth and Janesvillean, for looking beyond the humor of the first 911 call, and showing compassion and suggesting possible assistance options for this gentleman.
On an unrelated note, Ted, I really liked your wording of "suspected of stabbing the wall twice."

Although most 911 centers are burdened by inappropriate social service calls of one kind or another, in Rock County there is a centralized number for seeking assistance of any kind, First Call Rock County, run by the United Way.

.
They will direct callers to the appropriate assistance, whether public or private, as necessary. I do hope this gentleman, obviously desperate, was given a similar referral.

I hope the PD referred the man to a church, who could get together a volunteer work crew to help fix his house. Sounds like either he's elderly or mentally ill and really could use the help. If he were drunk or high, the police probably would have cited him for disorderly for wasting their time.

Too bad Paul Harvey isn't still around so we could hear "the rest of the story."

MTLQQ is still solvent and valued at about five cents a share, so that property may also not be abandoned.

Wow… I have met some folks who have an entitlement mentality, but calling the police because no one’s helping him fix his house? Where does thinking like this come from? How did we go from proud home owner to needing charity architects? Anyone wanna guess why this guy has no friends? That is ridicules.
.
Thank you Ted. I needed that belly laugh.

By abandoned General Motors property, I hope you mean the property across the street from the plant on Jackson St., which is the old GM/UAW Training Center. This is the only "abandoned" site left behind in bankruptcy and is owned by Motors Liquidation Co. The plant is still owned by General Motors Co., therefore not abandoned.
