Halloween is traditionally a bad holiday for me. About 25% of my life, something bad has happened on Halloween, ranging from getting my candy stolen to losing a really good friend. Bah-humbug!

Wear "glow bracelets" or place reflector tape on the costumes. Never trick-or-treat alone. After one's parents have checked the candy, count it daily and keep it away from your parents.

Happy Halloween!I dont think Halloween is any more dangerous now than when I was a kid trick 'or treating in Janesville.Remember going to the "Y" and playing a game similair to "musical chairs" for envelopes with .25,.50,or (WOW) a whole dollar inside?
Good common sense article.

I have a friend who used to live in a suburb of Detroit, called Garden City. Now that was a dangerous place to live. I was shocked when he told me he spent Halloween night up on his roof with a hose, as people liked to set fires! Crazy!

Sounds like everyday advise (common sense) to me.

Good advice. Here are more safety tips for trick-or-treating this Halloween on Mercy Health System's new blogs: http://bit.ly/2YV852 -- we have tips for residents too.
