Will there ever be 25 hours in a day?

By KENDRA BURNS   Friday, October 16, 2009 - 8:23 a.m.

A friend of mine asked me the other day if I somehow added hours to my day. Unfortunately, this is not possible. If this were to occur, the cycle would never end. We would all add additional items to our to-do list and would then ask ourselves why we couldn’t have 26 hours in a day. We, as mothers, seem to always be on the go – whether we are at home with our kids full-time or work outside of the home, we pile so many “things” onto our plate that there is no time to really enjoy the lives that we were blessed with bringing home in the first place.

In answer to my friend’s question, I certainly, and obviously, do not add hours to my day, but I do sacrifice sleep at times; we all sacrifice something to be a mother. Motherhood surely isn’t easy, but I am pretty sure that the sacrifices we make are well worth the rewards that we receive at the end of the day – those wonderful smiles, hugs, and sloppy kisses!
