On Project spent more than voters approved; board wants an accounting

So Swiss Chick what is your construction back ground? Do you have any idea what goes into a major project? These were huge jobs and there is no way ANYONE could forsee some of the issues that arose-- JPC has and always will continue to support their community and would not take advantage of the taxpayers. Maybe you should consider what can happen if a Contractor from out of town would come into Janesville-- they aren't going to care about saving a dime because the don't have any ties to the Community- think before you make FALSE comments

I can say for a fact that the school district had to approve all change orders- so look to your District-- not the contractor. Until you have gone into an existing building to make changes you have no idea what can be exposed and need to be repaired. There are always unforseen conditions that are not noticed at bid time. JPC did their part in keeping the costs as low as they could and always looked for alternatives for costly items-- never mind the time and materials they donated. So-- when looking to blame the contractor-- think again

What the police don't know-- and it is not their fault, is all the times I tried to call and couldn't because my cell phone would be ripped out of my hands and smashed and the landline would be ripped out of the wall. My keys would be taken from me also. I am glad to say I finally got out of the situation and me and my kids are safe. I do respect police officers but I don't feel the Orfordville police department did their job that night- but being a small town- the cops are "buddies" with everyone and don't want any issues, Rock county wasn't much help either- they have bigger issues to deal with than a women and her kids being scared out of their mind.

All I can say is that I was in a situation that left me trapped -- when a situation arose and my 11 year old son called 911 because he was concerned. the Orfordville police officer and a rock county officer did nothing to help me-I guess the crap that comes out of an alcoholics mouth is convincing enough for them. needless to say the police were called again -still nothing. I was told I should move out-- me and my kids. Maybe the police should realize not all calls are "minor" and that a couple will kiss and make up-- some are really needing help and are trapped-- not until we get hurt is anything done or a cop helps out- I'm not bashing Police officers by any means but they need to realize the control some of these men have on us

On High schools to open new areas early in '09

Back to the original subject---- Thank You Duke Kelly. The murals look great and the guys working on them have done a great job. As for all the contractors involved, they worked very hard to make these schools ready for the new school year and to keep everything on schedule- and in some cases ahead of schedule. All the students and teachers should be proud of their schools.

What most don't know is that the brick for these murals was donated and the Gazette should have recognized the man and his company for his generosity. It's funny how some complain and have no idea what they are talking about.
