On Janesville bar put on notice

When you advertise $1 taps and $2 drink specials and cater to young people, you're going to end up with a client base that has circled the drain a few times. Plus, the bouncers are all the stereotypical "likes to fight guy". You know, the TapOut or Affliction shirt wearing Jamokes who go out and actually look for trouble and any reason to "go". I went there a few times when I didnt feel motivated to drive to Madison or Milwaukee and saw several choke slams by the bouncers for seemingly minor infractions, like guys dancing too close to the very limited number of attractive females that show up. It's an at least 65% male clientele most nights. You get what you pay for

When people walk in with their own bib, they mean business! My only question is: How early in the evening will you have to get there to avoid being seated at one of the long tables, sitting shoulder to shoulder with a complete stranger
On Wis. father charged in death of infant son

I wish they had an automatic death penalty for pieces of human garbage like this. In this day and age, with the overwhelming evidence you can obtain that can determine guilt by a simple set of facts, there should be a tribunal system for swift capital punishment. Someone throws his infant son against a wall and kills the baby.... you could escalate and process this case in a matter of days and remove this saprophyte from the face of the earth and bury him in an unmarked grave. Undisputable evidence= undisputable guilt
On Wis. lawmakers approve day care vehicle alarms

This is the price we pay, since Common Sense passed away a long time ago. More laws, more policies, some of which are needed to save the lives of little ones. The most ridiculous stories are the ones where the parent goes to work and FORGETS that the kid is in the vehicle. A daycare worker who doesn't do a thorough check can at least on some levels resonate as a remote possibility. Lots of these deaths occur when a parent "forgets". In true fashion of legislation, a bill is crafted that misses the chance to enforce the prevention of a very sizeable number of accidents. I say make it automatically a punitive offense to leave any child unattended in a parked vehicle. Currently, it's up to the discretion of a prosecuting attorney to levy charges in such a case. Criminalize the entire act in it's entirety- it's common sense

On Lack of water blamed in Milwaukee runner collapses

@jfranklin Yes, your body sets off warning signs. However, the whole 10K race had no water available at all, from start to finish. I ran this race, and the heat index was over 100 degrees. To top it off, half of the course was out and back on a bridge. There was no way to get to any shade, there was no way to make a good decision and take yourself out of the race unless you jumped off the bridge or laid down by the guardrail. What would do if you ran a race with no access to water at all in that heat, even on the parts that were on the bridge? Start kicking down doors? I absolutely hate it when people have no idea what they're talking about and then try and get all sanctimonious and preachy. Even elite runners who were favored to win had to drop out. Do you think you could give meaningful advice to Bernard Lagat, who was in this race today and had to quit? He won the Olympic Trials 2008 in the 1500 meters. Put the fork down. This was a huge, epic fail on the part of the race planners. No one who has ever ran a race in their life would see it any other way.
